About This Course
The Institute of Banking Studies (IBS) offers a comprehensive and result-oriented preparation program for promotion from State Bank of India (SBI) Scale 2 (MMGS-II) to Scale 3 (MMGS-III).
The course is delivered by highly experienced senior bankers with in-depth domain expertise and practical insights into the promotion process. The entire syllabus is covered systematically, thoroughly, and in alignment with the latest examination pattern, ensuring conceptual clarity as well as exam-focused preparation.

Course Description
1. Daily live classes of one and a half hours on Zoom as per the schedule.
2. Missed a live class? The session’s recording will be available within 24 hours.
3. Access to previously recorded classes is also available on our IBS Vigyan app.
4. Study Material will be dispatched to the candidate’s address or bank branch within one week from the date of enrollment.
5. Comprehensive Mock Tests: 5 Full-Length mock tests and Topic-wise
6. Doubt-clarification via Telegram group and WhatsApp support.
7. Personalized mentorship guidance to assist candidates with preparation strategies and exam success.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :
Current Grade
You must be serving as an Officer in Scale-II (Middle Management Grade Scale-II).
Minimum Service Requirement
Merit / Fast-Track Channel:
Typically minimum 3 years of service in Scale-II before eligibility.
Seniority-cum-Merit Channel:
Typically minimum 5 years of service in Scale-II before eligibility.
EXAM PATTERN
Written Exam
Generally: None
• SBI promotions from Scale-II → Scale-III are mostly seniority-cum-merit or merit channel based.
• For Merit Channel / Fast-Track promotions, SBI may conduct an internal assessment or panel interview, but the “exam” is scenario-based and practical, not a standard MCQ or descriptive test.
Any assessment (if conducted) focuses on:
• Practical banking knowledge
• Branch and operational management
• RBI/Compliance/Regulatory knowledge
• Officer-level decision-making and leadership
