The State Bank of India (SBI) is expected to launch its biggest recruitment drive in ten years in FY26, with plans to recruit around 18,000 people, including 13,500 to 14,000 clerical staff, 3,000 Probationary and Local Bank Officers, and 1,600 System Officers to strengthen its tech capabilities. As per media reports, SBI chairman CS Setty stated that the hiring drive is in line with the bank's tech-driven transformation.

CS Sethi said that 18,000 people will be recruited in the financial year 2026, of which 13,500 to 14,000 will be clerical employees. 3,000 will be appointed as probationary officers and local officers. The remaining 1,600 will be appointed as system officers. He made this statement during the earnings review for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025.
He added that this is the first time in a decade that so many systems officers have been appointed and it demonstrates the importance the bank places on technology-driven growth.The move is part of SBI's commitment to innovate and modernize the banking sector. The appointment is aimed at providing new opportunities for technology professionals and paving the way for digital transformation in the Indian banking sector.According to the investor review, State Bank of India (SBI) has delivered a strong financial performance in the financial year 2025. The bank's operating profit crossed Rs 1 lakh crore, showing a growth of 17.89% on an annual basis.SBI's total deposits rose to over Rs 53 lakh crore during the period, while the volume of loans exceeded Rs 42 lakh crore. Notably, the bank was able to maintain a healthy gross non-performing asset ratio of 1.82% and reduce net non-performing assets to 0.47%.

The SBI Clerk Main results will be released in PDF format on the official website, listing the roll numbers of candidates shortlisted for final appointment. Along with the main result, SBI will also publish the category-wise cut-off marks and individual scorecards.
